EURIX is member of MPAI – Moving Picture, Audio and Data Coding by Artificial Intelligence, the international organization dedicated to Data compression standards based on Artificial Intelligence.
This organization was founded in Geneva by Leonardo Chiariglione, famous for being the initiator of MPEG, the international group of experts that created the audio-video standards MPEG-1, MPEG-2 MPEG-4 MPEG-7 and the audio component of MPEG-1, known as MP3.
The adoption of Artificial Intelligence to Data compression makes it possible to better exploit the statistical characteristics of Data: valuable complementary information can be gained.
The target of MPAI, which is a non-profit organization with many members from industry, science and academia, is therefore to promote the efficient and informed use of Data.
The MPAI aims to develop Data coding standards in an incredible variety of areas, no longer limited to the audio and video context.
